Security overview

Privacy in plain English.

Scribwolf is designed for people who need meeting notes without sending meeting audio to a cloud transcription service or a meeting bot.

Audio stays local
Private by default
No telemetry by default

The simple boundary

There are two separate promises: what happens on local plans, and what changes if you choose the optional Cloud tier.

Free and ProAudio, transcript, summary, action items, and models stay on your Windows machine.
Cloud tierTranscript text, summaries, action items, and metadata can sync for mobile access. Audio still does not sync.
Meeting appsScribwolf records from Windows, so it can work with Zoom, Teams, Google Meet, Webex, browsers, and other calling apps.
TelemetryOff by default. Scribwolf does not collect anonymous usage data unless you explicitly choose an opt-in mode.

What happens when you record

This is the short technical version your IT reviewer can inspect.

-> capture audio on your Windows machine
-> transcribe locally with on-device AI
-> create summary and action items locally
-> store notes under your Windows user profile

-> upload meeting audio to a cloud transcription service
-> invite a meeting bot into the call
-> send recordings to third-party model providers on Free or Pro

Before you install

Local AI avoids cloud upload, but it does need local resources. We keep that expectation clear.

Modern Windows laptop

Windows 10 or 11 with 8 GB RAM minimum. A GPU helps but is not required.

One-time model download

Expect roughly 250 MB to 3 GB depending on the transcription and summary quality mode you choose.

Minutes, not seconds

A long meeting can take a few minutes to process locally. The tradeoff is slower than cloud, safer by design.

Exports stay in your control

You can export notes to PDF or Markdown and decide where those files go.

Questions for IT or compliance

Use this page as a starting point for review. A formal security brief can be provided when the public download is ready.

Can network traffic be inspected?

Yes. A reviewer can monitor the Scribwolf process and confirm local recording does not upload audio to transcription services on Free or Pro.

Can I use the Cloud tier for regulated work?

Use caution. Cloud sync can contain sensitive transcript text. For HIPAA-style or privileged conversations, Pro is the safer default.
