Terms of Use

Last updated: August 2026 · Effective for Scribwolf v0.1.0+

1. Acceptance

By downloading or using Scribwolf, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the software.

2. What Scribwolf is

Scribwolf is a local-first Windows desktop application for recording, transcribing, and summarising meetings. Free and Pro tiers process all audio locally on your machine. The optional Cloud tier adds encrypted transcript sync and a mobile web interface.

3. Your responsibility for recording consent

You are solely responsible for complying with applicable recording consent laws in your jurisdiction. Many jurisdictions require all parties to a conversation to consent before it is recorded. Requirements vary by country, state, and context (legal consultation, therapy, journalism, employment, etc.).

Scribwolf does not obtain consent on your behalf, does not join calls as a bot, and does not display notifications to other participants. You must determine what consent is required and obtain it before using Scribwolf to record any conversation.

Using Scribwolf to record conversations without required consent may violate criminal or civil law. Scribwolf Ltd accepts no liability for recordings made without appropriate consent.

4. Acceptable use

You may not use Scribwolf to:

  • Record conversations where required consent has not been obtained.
  • Intercept communications in violation of applicable wiretapping or interception laws.
  • Facilitate harassment, stalking, or unlawful surveillance of another person.
  • Circumvent technical controls or reverse-engineer the application for malicious purposes.

5. License

Scribwolf grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use the application for your personal or professional purposes on devices you own or control. You may not redistribute the application without written permission.

6. No warranty

Scribwolf is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We do not warrant that transcription output will be accurate, complete, or fit for any particular purpose. Transcripts are generated by AI models and may contain errors.

7. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Scribwolf Ltd shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the software, including errors in transcription, data loss, or unlawful use of recordings.

8. Termination

You may stop using Scribwolf at any time by deleting the application and your data. We may suspend Cloud accounts that violate these Terms. Termination does not affect locally stored data — you must delete it yourself.

9. Changes

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be noted by updating the "Last updated" date. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
